Hey all,

I found this while researching and thought it was worth sharing. If you’ve ever seen Kitty Kam then you’re already familiar with USTREAM.

If not, well, go ahead and watch the Kitty Kam and then swing back and finish the article.

I’ll wait.

USTREAM is a web streaming service that allows for live streaming video, integrated social media, chat and it can also records your content. It also has a system that allows you to curate your broadcast channel for times when you’re not live streaming.

The coolest part that I have found is the Pay Per View portion of the site. At first it doesn’t seem like it would be a big deal, since the last time I checked I’m not hosting the next MMA fight in my backyard, but there is great potential for local small businesses.

When a business, like Tech Geekery, has an event–let’s use our Technology Training Series as an example–you can set up a Pay Per View widget to monetize the event. Having this feature added to your USTREAM channel very quickly makes your event accessible and convenient for your customers.

Now the person who wasn’t going to be out of a staff meeting in time to drive down to the venue and park before training started can tune in from their desk, making their day that much simpler.

With the basic USTREAM channel setup being free, I say, why not give it a try!

Let me know if you find it as neat as I did! Post your comments below 🙂

Have a great day!
